Personal discovery • privacy-first • respectful to GitHub

Find developers who build like you

GitSocialSpace is your personal exploration network on GitHub. It learns what you actually work on — languages, themes, rhythm of shipping — and surfaces engineers with kindred technical DNA. No endless manual search. No popularity race. Just relevant people.

Public catalog, personal after login. Global counts for guests — your own ranked feed appears on the dashboard once you connect GitHub.

The problem we solve

GitHub has millions of great engineers.
Finding yours is the hard part.

Popular ≠ relevant. The most valuable connections share your technologies, engineering habits and curiosity — and they are invisible in search sorted by stars or followers.

Manual discovery doesn't scale

Hours of scrolling, open tabs, and gut feeling. Results can't be compared, repeated, or explained.

Before GitSocialSpace

Search finds keywords, not people

Topics and READMEs are noisy. Two “React developers” can have completely different real-world stacks.

Keyword trap

Popularity hides signal

Stars and followers reward visibility, not fit. You miss quiet, strong engineers who build exactly like you.

Signal vs fame
For whom

Made for both sides of the match.

Developers want peers. Recruiters want proof. Teams want contributors. GitSocialSpace speaks the same language to everyone.

Grow a network that actually helps you build.

Stop collecting random followers. Get a daily, ranked feed of developers whose real work mirrors yours — so you can learn, collaborate, and be seen by the right people.

  • ✓Relevant feed, not random. Ranked by closeness to you, not by fame — your profile is the baseline.
  • ✓Discover repos you'll love. See what kindred engineers ship, how they structure code, what they care about.
  • ✓Grow without spam. Follows and stars happen gradually, with daily budget and automatic pause under limits.
  • ✓Stay in control. Pause or resume anytime, keep full history, export or delete your data.

Example: engineers with overlapping Spring + Kotlin signals discover each other and start reviewing PRs — not because of follower counts, but because of shared practice.

How it works

Three calm steps. No black boxes.

We keep the internals boring and the results explainable. No hidden models, no aggressive scraping — just respectful, deterministic matching built on public GitHub data.

01

Connect GitHub — read-only

Sign in and link your GitHub account. We read only public profile and repository metadata. No private code, no write access beyond follows and stars — all within GitHub rules.

  • OAuth or personal token, your choice
  • Revoke or pause anytime from Management
  • Graceful handling of limits and retries
02

We learn your technical baseline

Your own public repositories define the compass: primary languages, recurring topics, and the cadence of your work. That same lens is applied to everyone we discover.

  • Each candidate scored relative to you — not a global leaderboard
  • Transparent dimensions: languages, topics, activity, profile completeness
  • Reproducible and deterministic — same inputs, same rank
03

Discover, rank, and grow — gently

We explore beyond your immediate graph — followers, stargazers, contributors — then rank and connect gradually. Small daily budget, automatic cleanup of stale follows, warm reciprocity when someone notices you.

  • Gradual, human-paced actions
  • Automatically pauses near rate limits
  • Live dashboard with history and controls

Move your stack. Watch the ranking move.

This is a simplified illustration — the live system uses your actual GitHub profile as the baseline and applies a deterministic 0–100 scale across four complementary lenses.

Transparency, not theater

Every profile and repository shows its work.

A GitSocialSpace Passport is a calm, evidence-based summary — not a sales pitch. It lists what was observed, where it was seen, how deeply it is used, and where coverage was limited. If we couldn't observe something, we say so.

What a passport contains

Technologies

Each technology shows role (direct/transitive/dev), scopes where it appears, and a qualitative depth — with just enough context, not raw code.

Engineering practices

CI, containers, IaC, testing, docs, release discipline — present / absent / unknown, each backed by supporting paths.

Activity

History is bounded and dated: active months, cadence, and authorship share — or an explicit “unknown” when identity is ambiguous.

Privacy by design: no source code, no secrets, no personal data. Paths are truncated, attributes are single-line and size-limited, vendor and generated files are excluded.

Honest limits

Every run has explicit bounds. When something is skipped, you see the stage, a short reason, and counts. A passport is marked complete only when nothing was skipped — otherwise it stays visibly partial, so you never mistake “not seen” for “does not use”.

Principles

Opinionated, and openly so.

◍

Signals, not fame

We rank by languages you use, themes you work in, and freshness of work — not by followers or stars. Quiet, strong engineers rise.

◎

Your baseline is the compass

Every score is personal to you. The same candidate ranks differently for a Java backend lead and a Python data engineer — as it should.

≡

Evidence over claims

Every technology and practice cites the public files it came from. You can trace any fact to its source — no hand-waving.

✓

Honest uncertainty

Not seen ≠ absent. If coverage was limited, the passport stays “partial” and unknown stays unknown — never silently negative.

Stewardship note

We operate respectfully within GitHub's platform rules, with automatic backoff and quota headroom for your interactive work. That said, please review GitHub's automation policies for your own account and decide what pace feels right for you — you stay in control.

FAQ

Honest answers.

Only public data via GitHub API: your profile, public repositories, languages, topics, and follower graph. We never read private repositories and never store source code — passports keep only short, single-line identifiers and redacted attributes.
We act like a careful human: small daily budget, randomized pauses, automatic cooldown when approaching rate limits, and respect for Retry-After. You can pause any pipeline from Management. Still, review GitHub's own automation guidance for your account and choose a pace you're comfortable with.
Ranking is deterministic and explainable: four lenses you can inspect — languages, topics, activity, and profile completeness. The same inputs always produce the same score. And remember, the score is personal: your profile is the baseline.
Your pipeline and preferences are isolated per account. The global catalog of public candidates is shared and reused, but your scores and actions are yours. You can request export or two-step deletion (5-day grace period, re-login cancels it) from Management at any time.
Yes. See the concept demo above, open a public passport page, or create an account and watch your dashboard fill gradually — no credit card, no hidden tiers. If it doesn't fit, pause or leave.
